I am a chef based in the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia. I offer bespoke, boutique personal chef and catering services but also organise popup events.

about me
I didn’t start my career in a kitchen. After completing my first degree in my hometown of Athens, Greece, I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, where I did a master’s degree and a doctorate. I subsequently spent the first half of my professional life as a professor of law and philosophy in the UK. Moving to Cyprus in 2017 for family reasons, I decided to leave academia and devote myself to what I truly love: cooking and writing fiction.
I started off hosting popup events in 2019 in Nicosia, motivated by my own craving for tasty food prepared with local, seasonal ingredients, and with a flexible, changing menu.
Despite the disruption caused by the pandemic, the project took off. Having hosted events at various venues around Nicosia, I expanded my operations so as to offer a personal chef service as well.

The branches of my activities, cooking, fiction, philosophy, law, might seem unconnected at first but they are not. Food preparation and consumption, so central to social life and so bound to rules as they are, are of course clearly related to other social practices; stories have flavours; flavours have stories.
Having honed my cooking skills over many years, and being a lover of Mediterranean ingredients and processes, I serve old favourites from Greece and from across the basin, but also develop my own, innovative recipes, with a special but not exclusive focus on vegetarian and vegan cuisine, drawing on commonalities and bridging differences.

Are you entertaining and want to offer something special to your guests?
Let me offer you a restaurant experience that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own space.
I take care of your breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner (all four in one day, if you’re that way inclined!)
I can also take care of small(ish) receptions and parties.
I can serve sit-down meals, meze as well as buffet and finger food.
I cover the whole of Nicosia or, with sufficient notice, other locations in Cyprus.
I discuss and work out your needs.
I design and fully customise a menu that meets your desires and is appropriate to your occasion, guests and space.
I pair your meal with carefully selected wines (with sufficient notice, we can provide wines not available in the Cypriot marketplace).
I prepare the meal in your space – to the extent possible – to serve it fresh and give you peace of mind in knowing that we always use the best and healthiest ingredients available.
I’ll also happily discuss the cooking process with you and your guests.
Subject to prior agreement, I can take care of service and thoroughly clean up your space. You just sit back and enjoy the experience with your guests!

I will regularly host popup events at various venues around town to showcase old and new recipes for a wider audience and to offer you an exciting and unique culinary experience. Keep an eye on my blog, and my Instagram account for updates.
Do you have a café or bar and would like to host a special evening with food?
Drawing on my extensive experience, I will tailor the menu to the space and occasion and take care of service.
I can also advise on pairing with the right drinks. If you’re short of cutlery, crockery, glasses and even chairs, leave it to me!

My menu consists of classic dishes as well as of my own creations inspired and influenced by regional cuisines mainly from across the Mediterranean but also further afield.
My ingredients are responsibly and ethically selected, handpicked, often even hand-foraged, and always treated with the respect that they deserve. I try my utmost to serve you delicious food, not air miles or endangered species, to add to the enjoyment of nature, not contribute to its destruction.
I constantly experiment with ingredients and processes to create dishes to please all the senses without succumbing to pointless showing off or fads.
I specialise in vegetarian and vegan cuisine and can offer a wide range of exciting dishes so you don’t have to worry about being served the same old mushroom risotto.
I have the experience and flexibility to cater for all dietary requirements. I will customise your menu to your preferences, not shoehorn your preferences to my capacities.
